Thorens TD 1600 combines the brand’s tradition of the past with 21st century’s technology. Externally quite similar to former famous 160 series with classical wooden plinth, two-part platter with inner belt and thick rubber mat, arm board and acrylic dust cover, it contains a lot of innovations inside.

The conical springs for sub chassis are not mounted on top board any longer but standing on the bottom. Additionally, a small but strong tightened thread made of steel connects sub chassis with a steel pin on the bottom and so prevents sub chassis from staggering and allows only vertical movement.
A powerful control unit takes care of motor speed.

Return of Thorens DNA with additional features

Thorens TD 1601 combines everything TD 1600 brings with some additional features regarding comfort and connection to amplifiers. Classical wooden plinth, two-part platter with inner belt and thick rubber mat, powerful motor control unit, arm board and acrylic dust cover are expanded by balanced outputs and functions for easier handling.

An electrical lift is included, too and a contactless auto shut off. XLR jacks provide a real balanced connection to amplifiers.

The Thorens TD 402 DD comes as out of the box solution for easy use. It has got a very silent, innovative direct drive motor in combination with an integrated phono pre amp and auto start and auto stop function.
Far from simple entry level standard Thorens TD 402 DD uses state of the art technology together with ease of use and perfect sound.

The new tonearm Thorens TP 72 uses a carbon tube, the pre installed cartridge AT VM95 E is mounted in a detachable headshell. The integrated phono preamp can be switched off if necessary.
An acrylic dust cover and a power supply are included.

The Thorens TD 148A sets the standard for high level full automatic turntables in the market in technology and design. A high quality plinth, a precise glass platter and the new tonearm which is derived from our High End TP 92 prove this.

Additionally there is still the classical belt drive, the very quiet running DC motor and a suspended “floating” chassis. 78 rpm are available for playing old shellac records. Instead of a fixed cable a pair of RCA Jacks allow usage of any cable you like for connecting the TD 148A to the amp. Ortofon M2 Blue cartridge is preinstalled.
